The Wall Street is a legitimate place to make money in the financial market, no different from any other legitimate market where money is legally made. How the money is made on the Street makes it look like a casino. You know what? Casino is just another legitimate place to make money (or lose mone) in the betting market. It's a total BS to speak of the Street as a place filled with 尔虞我诈. At modern times it's the highest ground for people to show off their smartness and guts. It's a diamond testing lab where we come to know what we are made of. And naturally it's also the podium where highest award is handed out.
Wang is a criminal per auther's own account. A criminal doesn't suddently become a hero or even a good citizen simply by expressing sympathy to a natrual disaster or making a donation to the needy people. Burney Madolf has made mumerous charity donations in his entire life but none of that has a dent in his sentencing leniency consideration because he donated with stollen money. The story about his conerns and care is rather pale in this particular setting.
Pain caused by divorce? I can't stop laughing. I thought the auther showed us that he just pulled off another grand schem to extend his wife and offspring's illegal rich living on his stoled money. Where is the pain? Shouldn't he be emotionally happier (or at least relieved) when divorce finally came through?
A lot of people are willing to be led to belive in the exciting unfolding of the story. I feel totally opposite. The story has its best in the first half although it does look like a mixing pot of all the rumors and gossips circulating on the Street (why not).
