To work with t based Component Certification team to establish, control and update legislative compliance programmes for each project (vehicle/MY programme) as assigned by management. To accomplish this, the Project Engineer will:-
Review company policy documents and establish areas of compliance affected.
Establish testing requirements with Product Engineering, Vehicle Safety, Power Train Engineering and other areas of the company as required and directed by regulatory requirements.
Monitor conformance of programmes to required legislation and ensure that new updated regulations, directives and other policy type information are input to the programme teams with plans to accommodate agreed.
Provide management reporting of programme performance against agreed timings and actions to support GPDS processes and new model launch gateway agendas.
Degree/HND/HNC or equivalent in an engineering related discipline.
• Substantial experience in an automotive engineering environment, including in-depth knowledge of vehicle construction and systems.
• At least 2 years experience in a component/vehicle legislative function involving analysis of vehicle safety and interpretation of legislation and knowledge of certification and type approval systems/component and procedures.
• Ability to read and understand engineering test reports and other technical information used to present for certification to external national and international government agencies.
• Ability to focus and lead continuous improvements and opportunities.
• Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to present complex information to all levels within the business.
• Able to operate standard office software packages
• Full Passport & driving license needed
