if you are using non-chinese win2k or XP, u can either:
-- install 中文之星 or 思通利方richwin for win2000. note it has to be "for 2000" or xp. some verisons named" 中文之星xp" or 'richwin2000" won't work.
-- or go to "control panel-->region options-->general". add "Simplied Chinese" in the "language setting for your system" list if you don't have it yet(you may need windows installation disk at this step). choose "Chinese(PRC)" as your locale. Then click on "set default" button. The last step is important -- it will make your system essntially a chinese OS that can read any unicode chinese files on the hard drive or any URLs containing unicode characters. this instruction is for Windows 2000, WinXP is similar.
