make bigger, fatter, scalable and monopolistic (however temporary) profits. China
will be a capitalist's paradise with a "docile" labor
force, puppet union and no burden of
the worker's comp insurance that has gone out of
whack in the U.S. But don't just join the rat race of
manufacturing yet. Chinese manufactuers are pinched by
rising commodity price on one end, and slimmer margins
on the other end, and the ever increasing pressure to
improve productivity and cut costs. Not exactly the
best position one would like to be into.
The real winners are whoever can continue to maintain
a quasi-monopolistic position along the supply chain. Or
someone who is providing a non-commodity service to
people in the rat race.
As an aside, as long as there remains
geopolitical stability, as long as China has not really
cleaned up and opened up its banking sector, China will
continue to subsidize the US Treasury and interest rate
will remain comparatively low in the US.
