Honeywell is a $23B diversified, global technology and industrial company, and is a Dow 30 composite company. Honeywell is a leader in the spaces it plays: Home/ Building/ Industrial technologies, Aerospace systems, Turbochargers, and Specialty Materials. Within Honeywell, the ~$2B Security business is an industry leader, and a high priority within the portfolio, given its strong growth opportunities and experienced management team. The Security business focuses on electronic security technologies across Residential and Commercial customers—with lines of business (LOBs) in video, intrusion alarms, access systems-- and also the distribution of these products.
Within the Security group, we have roughly US $300 million in sales across Europe, Middle East, and Africa (EMEA), with tremendous opportunity for growth. In EMEA, the business has manufacturing operations (Brno, Czech Republic), engineering R&D centers (Nice, France and East Kilbride, Scotland), numerous country offices, and roughly 1,000 employees.
The Marketing Communications (Marcom) Leader position will have overall responsibility for all external communications activities in EMEA. The job would involve:
· Working with the LOB Marcom Leaders to develop and implement plans and strategies that generate awareness and create demand for the company’s products and solutions
· Driving excellence and the sharing of best practices in the communications function across all of the LOBs in EMEA
· Establishing common processes/vendors as appropriate, to drive consistency and efficiency across the business
· Implementing and ensuring compliance with corporate branding and visual standards
· Driving cross-LOB, cross-EMEA activities and initiatives, including web strategy, trade advertising and participation in major trade shows
· Overall responsibility for PR programs, including developing key media contacts and managing the relationship with the designated Honeywell PR agency
· Managing a consolidated marketing communications budget for the Security business in EMEA
· Establishing and applying measurement tools to evaluate effectiveness of marketing communications programs and materials
· Active participation with global Security, ACS and corporate communications programs
· Working and collaborating with global business and functional leaders (e.g., Finance, Business Development, Sales, Operations, Marketing, Technology, Pricing)
· Managing, evaluating, training, recruiting, and building the marketing communications organization in EMEA
This role will report to the VP of Global Marketing Communications for the Security group. The four LOB EMEA-wide marcom leaders for Intrusion (HSCE), Video, Access, and Distribution will report into this role, as well as the marketing leaders for each LOB.
A candidate should have a minimum of eight to 10 years experience in communications/public relations, with at least 5 years in a management position. This person should have strong written and verbal communications skills, multinational work experience, an ability to work in a dynamic fast-paced environment – and proven experience developing and implementing programs that help drive growth.
Proficiency in one or more EMEA languages is a plus. Strong academics and a Bachelors degree is required, ideally in Marketing, Communications or Public Relations. The candidate should also be proficient in Microsoft Word and PowerPoint.
The job would be based in Amsterdam, Netherlands, with significant travel throughout EMEA.
