There are two traditional plain dwellings, reconstruction newolas(?), and comas(?), low tents made of camel hair. Mountain populations have adapted to a more inclemental environment. The Cosba(?) is made of dry stones, a single room dwelling with only one entrance.
More important earth constructions are set in the atlas foot hills. Because of their oak color and varying tones of red, the Zar(?), fortified houses are often mistaken for the mountain summit which are surrounding them.
