Job Title: EHS Sourcing Manager
Report to: Asia EHS Supplier Manager
City: Dalian, Suzhou, Wuxi, Shanghai


Job Duties:

Working with PGM Global Contract Manufacturing, Procurement, R&D, GMS and PGM plants, support the EHS Supplier Program in China/India. Key responsibilities include assessing EHS risks at supplier facilities and with consideration of business activities implement suitable support models to drive improvement in performance. Support may involve training and competence building, infrastructure design guidance, writing procedures and sharing of best practices, either through the successful candidate or leveraged from other internal Pfizer expertise, external consultants or suitable industry groups. The goal is to support business objectives for cost effective sourcing without compromising Pfizer's commitment to EHS or incurring unacceptable risks or liabilities.

Principal responsibilities include:

1. Monitor supplier improvement plans ensuring focus on key risks for respective facilities and closure within an acceptable timeframe;
2. Complete EHS Reviews/Audits of key suppliers where needed and issue reports that clearly highlight recommendations resulting from the assessments. Communicate clearly the results of EHS Suppliers Reviews to Business and Line Managers in a timely manner to ensure EHS factors are considered in contracting decisions;
3. Ensure that relevant EHS information is transferred to the supplier as part of outsourcing activities and that this information is kept up to date (for example Industrial Hygiene and Process Safety data as well as relevant MSDS etc.);
4. Maintain databases to support business decisions including but not limited to review reports, acceptability of suppliers and observations from reviews and support activities;
5. Provide EHS guidance and direction into business planning of Pfizer teams in selecting suppliers;
6. Assess on an on-going basis current and future EHS regulatory requirements in relevant Asian countries impacting suppliers and incorporate consideration of such requirements into the Supplier EHS Programs;
7. Work with representatives from key Pfizer Divisions including PGM, PGRD, Global Operations, PGE, Legal and industry groups to assure an aligned approach and efficient processes with respect to supplier EHS support activities;
8. Successful candidates will be located in India, China or Singapore (actual location within the country is flexible dependent on several factors). Colleagues will work predominantly with suppliers located in China and India, however periodically support will be needed on a regional and global basis. Travel is estimated at approximately 40% for the indicated positions.

Requirements:

 Qualifications:
1. BS Degree in Chemical or Environmental Engineering, Environmental Sciences, Health and Safety, Risk Management or a related field.
2. Masters Degree in Environment Science, Health, Safety, Engineering, Risk Management or related field preferred.
3. Excellent verbal, written, interpersonal communication skills required.

 Work Experience:
1. 6 years relevant experience, API/Chemical/heavy industry manufacturing experience preferred;
2. Strong experience in EHS training/coaching;
3. Experience with a broad range of EHS disciplines, focus on environmental and process safety preferred;
4. Risk assessment and risk management knowledge;
5. Experience of working across disciplines in large organization;
6. Experience of auditing pharmaceutical or chemical manufacturing plants;

 Personal Skills:
1. Proven ability to effectively manage complex projects, programs and teams;
2. Ability to quickly assess EHS risks at suppliers and relate these to business implications;
3. Ability to work effectively with suppliers from a variety of countries and cultures, maintaining positive relations while sometimes giving difficult feedback or advice;
4. Ability to coach and influence organizations within EHS discipline without direct responsibility for operating units;
5. Excellent planning and organizational skills;
6. Self managed team member;
7. Ability to influence a network of internal resources and external supplier colleagues with no direct responsibility for their time;
8. Strong interpersonal and communication skills (both oral and written). Successful applicant must be comfortable communicating with both Pfizer colleagues and external suppliers from all geographical areas of the world and at all levels of management;
