Experience:7-10 years of combined Engineering/Technical management, Business/Sales development experience a plus.
Job Description:
The candidate should possess the skills necessary to matrix manage a team of technical/engineering staff members while overseeing the day-to-day operations of the Beijing office. This person will be the liaison between the Beijing office and headquarters and will be responsible for building and leading technical operations in China. The ideal candidate will have a mix of both general managerial experience as well as technical acumen in order to gain and maintain the respect and trust of staff and local and regional business contacts.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Operations
• Assist all reports in identifying and delivering opportunities for growth
• Help regional business leads in contract negotiation with respect to local business practices
• Successfully implement new contracts/services
• Ensure effective two way communication with team members and the rest of Qualys
• Produce the weekly and quarterly management report
• Provide high level commentary and analysis of weekly management report
• Manage the operations of the local office
Customers
• Add focus and value to existing services offered
• Obtain competitor intelligence as required
• Is involved in strategic communications with clients when necessary
People
• Facilitate the sharing of knowledge and leading edge concepts as appropriate
• Maintain regular contact with peers in the US
• Facilitate the networking activity of direct reports
• Manage the overall effectiveness of the team performance
• Manage the performance of all reports and the overall team’s performance
• Act as a role model by acting in a professional manner and having a positive attitude at all times
• Monitor team’s progress regularly against plans/objectives to ensure achievement
• Help recruit and select qualified candidates
• Build relationships with US counter parts and key external suppliers as appropriate
