ANTANANARIVO, April 1 (Xinhua) -- A Reunion politician Paul Vergès reportedly bought the special presidential aircraft, the purchase of which had brought about a lot of controversy and become one of the factors that forced former Madagascan President Marc Ravalomanana to step down.
A website in the French-ruled La Reunion island, clicanoo.com, reported on Wednesday that a proposal by Vergès was approved by the supervisory board of Air Austral last week to acquire the Boeing 737-700, which flew here last January, fueling the political crisis in the country.
