JOB PURPOSE
Within the framework of the businesses of the Group W/A Business Area, the job holder coordinates the marketing definition of all wiring accessories, all functions protection, communication (VDI) and « controls » (SW/A) products ranges meant for all Asian, Pacific & Middle East markets.
Main purposes are, after examination and analysis of the various market data, to define together with the teams the product-system offer relating to these applications, and to participate actively in their technical and industrial realisation. Technical and economical opportunities offered by the manufacturing sites world-wide have to be taken into account.
These activities are carried out in a « global Market » approach and over all sites of the Group W/A BA.

The job scope can be defined through :
• the further development of the Hager Group in a strategic line of business
• the WA project for Asia Pacific & Middle East markets: 3rd year target sales of 23 m€
• investment of the Group W/A project > 30 M€, of which 30% is in the job scope
• the development of his aptitude to manage situations relating to the :
o working with teams abroad,
o deployment of an approach and a multicultural opening, tasks analysis and organising into a hierarchy.

JOB ACCOUNTABILITIES (OR KEY TASKS) AND JOB CONTENT
Product Management
To manage all aspects of the relevant product segment to ensure that customers’ current and future needs are met in line with the company’s business objectives, whilst maximizing the bottom line result.
• To define short/medium term product development plans based on feedback from customers/sales team, competitor product developments, new technology opportunities or by developing technology partnerships, master all technical aspects of product segment (standards, quality, service).
• To work with CBD & MA’s to define longer term product development strategy.
o To maintain and consolidate the projects development plans.
o Develop with the MA needs the priority matrix and ensure ongoing maintenance for the matrix.
o To ensure that opportunities within the plan are fully assessed within the scope of the company PA (Project Analysis) process, and that any appropriate projects are submitted for approval.
• Participate actively in the development of the project with R&D & MA.
o By supplying quantitative and economic data.
o Verification and validation of the technical specifications,
o implementation of specification
o qualification of specifications of products developed internally as well as externally.
• To support the development through the PIP (Project in Progress) phase to ensure that the product meets the requirements of the Product Specification, and to seek customer input to the process at appropriate times.
• Definition of the needs with regards to product marketing staff.
o Participation and preparation of the product launch’s and the commercial tools required for such launches.
• To manage the existing ranges with a view to maximizing sales/margins, analyse all the economical aspects of products.
o Build a diagnostic of the positioning of the product segmentations.
o To manage the products in line with the Portfolio Management process to identify products that can be deleted from the range, or where margin improvement can be gained through price repositioning.
• To provide day to day support on product related issues to all internal and external customers.
• Communication of any changes to products or ranges that may have an impact on the wider business.
Health & Safety
• All Health & Safety responsibilities are adhered to at all times ensuring compliance with current Health & Safety legislation in accordance with the current Company Policy.
DECISION MAKING AUTHORITY
• Management of Staff consisting of Product Managers for AS WA based in Australia and BS Asian WA Product Engineers based in China.
• Decisions with regard to the aforementioned accountabilities and budgets, within guidelines set with the operational and functional Manager.
• Suspension of product from sales due to technical reasons.
• Recommendation for a recall of products from the market.
• Deletion of products from range for either operational or margin reasons. (Portfolio Management)
