There has recently been some discussion of building a common market in Asia as has been done in Europe. But a common market is based on common cultural traditions that make people feel comfortable trading with each other. This has been the case in Western Europe for hundreds of years, while it remains unclear whether there exist similar types of cultural pillars in Asia that support a common market. If similar cultural patterns have to be found, do the following comparisons make any sense?
City of London – Central of Hong Kong
Switzerland – Singapore
Germany – Japan
Prussia – Kanto Region
Berlin – Tokyo
Rhineland – Kansai Region
Frankfurt -- Osaka
Vienna – Kyoto
Aachen – Nara
Strasbourg – Okinawa
Greek Peninsula – Shandong Peninsula
Northern France – Yangtze River Delta
Northern Italy – Southeast coast of China
Ireland – South Korea
