POSITION SUMMARY
To work with wireless telecommunications carrier partners as the technical co-ordination point for deploying BlackBerry and Systems on their networks. The role will require the individual to work with specific carriers or carrier groups and to manage specific engineering programmes as assigned by the Senior CTM team lead.
Responsible for the pre-sales technical relationship within the CTM carrier group.
A technical interface for the specific CTM carrier group.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Act as a technical interface between specific carriers in the CTM carrier group and RIM's engineering community.
• Responsible for day to day handling of specific carrier issues lists, product configuration and technical acceptance activities with carriers.
• In the pre-launch phase to support the technical components at the direction of the Sr. CTM team lead.
• Assisting in the completion of the carrier RFI documents at the direction of the Sr. CTM team lead.
• Ensure successful technical relationships with specific carriers within the CTM carrier group.
• Ensure successful relationships with internal RIM teams.
• Supporting the execution of the blackberry solution testing phases of the launch programme.
• To work with the initial investigation and filtering of technical issues during testing phase, and to help ensure these are handled in appropriate way.
• May be required to support, along with Sr CTM team lead, and Sr. CTM, meetings with carriers from the CTM carrier group.
• To help secure successful carrier acceptance of BlackBerry Solution.
• Provide technical assistance to the internal carrier Business Unit, at all stages of the programme, at the direction of the Sr. CTM team lead.
• To work with carriers in a manner appropriate with the carriers Tier level.
• Potentially to work with SDS and/or SAM's to ensure resolution of issues related to carriers with the CTM carrier group, at the direction of the Sr. CTM team lead.
ESSENTIAL SKILLS & QUALIFICATION
• Technical education relating to hardware and software design or testing is a benefit.
• Previous work experience with handset/fixed network component manufacturer or telecom consultancy is desirable
• Strong technical understanding and experience with GSM/GPRS/UMTS or other packet based wireless networks
• Strong technical understanding and experience with CDMA 1X, EvDO
• Engineering degree essential preferably with telecommunications content
• Previous customer facing experience would be desirable.
Any particular aptitude / skill required
• Good communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Good problem solving skills, analytical by nature, ability to think on his/her feet.
• Flexible and adaptable to changing priorities.
• Ability to work under pressure.
• We are particularly looking for candidates who are either fluent or competent in conversational and written English and one or more additional SE Asian languages will be a plus.
