Position Overview:
The Enterprise Architect develops and maintains the high-level design plan for the overall applications, data and infrastructure architectures. EA provides technical leadership across the organization, from top line decision making down to the project planning level. Gains commitment for high-level infrastructure plans, and initiates and participates in projects to evaluate technologies and methods of implementation. EA can also be responsible for end to end architectural solution for complex applications.
Strategic Architects - R&D driven, look at industry and customer trends, work in “future mode” and provide general guidance (via white papers, position papers, etc.) for specific technologies.
Enterprise Architects – Receive information from the strategic architects, see where new technology can be applied to specific business strategies, ensure Customer is making the right technical investments, identifies the gaps in the business to which they are attached, and works within the business to develop a deployment strategy e.g. roadmap
Responsibilities:
• Assess business requirements and technology alternatives
• Contributes to strategy and policy development.
• Builds multi-platform technology consensus across business units.
• Evaluate and/or pilot new technology.
• Implement new technologies in small and medium scale environments.
• Contribute to the development of business cases
• Responsible for the functional design and architecture of application systems across all technologies and platforms
• Designs application's technical infrastructure, such as specific databases, programming languages, utilities, and testing approaches.
• Constructs program flow charts to describe the processing of data and development of precise steps and processing logic across all platforms.
• Provides broad understanding of platforms and applications across all technologies.
• May lead implementation of new technical architecture.
• Coordinate technical environments and technology evaluations.
• Builds consensus within technical area and advocates alternatives.
• Leads multidisciplinary and multi-organizational planning projects.
• Recognizes technology opportunities and generate strategies.
• Defines regulations, standards, policies and codes.
Qualifications:
• B.A. / B.S. and above, major in computer and/or management science or related field and 5+ years’ related experience, or an equivalent combination of training and experience.
• Minimum 5 years experience application design and leading a large distributed enterprise systems including but not limited to SAP, JDE, Ariba, Oracle, .NET, J2EE Java.
• Applied experience in large and complexity applications and business analysis.
• Ability to anticipate and effectively deal with requirements problems and roadblocks.
• Able to lead a team of high caliber application design.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, mastery of the English Language.
• Good communication skills, team-working spirit and leadership.
