We are market leader in software development for design, strength assessment, risk analysis, asset life cycle management and knowledge-based engineering. With a dedicated staff of 260 employees we develop state of the art software products for the maritime, offshore and process industries as well as customized solutions. COMPANY Software is a major supplier of strategic technical software to COMPANY.
In recent years COMPANY Software has built market leading software products for machinery calculations for large industrial engines, gearing and shafts for marine and offshore applications. These applications include calculations such as torsional vibration, shaft alignment and gear rating under the name of Nauticus Machinery. These applications are built on COMPANY’s world class expertise in this area.
COMPANY Software has identified a large market for these applications in Asia Pacific and is looking to recruit a customer focussed and market oriented Business Development Manager to join our Business Development team based in Shanghai. Working closely with other Business Development Managers, the successful applicant will take specific responsibility for working with our network of Sales Executives to grow the market for the Nauticus Machinery products, initially focussing on China, Korea and Japan.
Responsibilities
You will work within COMPANY Software’s Department for Business Development.
The successful candidate will have responsibility for all the analysis tools in Nauticus Machinery and should have experience working with design and analysis of rotating machinery components (propeller, shafts, couplings, gears and engines).The Business Development Manager will provide a link between the regional sales organisation, the software development team, the customers and other parts of COMPANY.
This will include the provision of a Sales and Marketing kit and appropriate training to facilitate the Regional Sales organisation in building a sales pipeline and successfully taking these software solutions to market. In addition, the Business Development Manager will be heavily involved in development strategy and product release planning.
Your work tasks will include:
• Responsibility for the product development plans matching software deliveries with market needs.
• Development of long term market and product development strategies.
• Communication and follow-up towards the software development team to ensure that releases are according to plan.
• Coordinate needs and requirements from external customers and COMPANY, as well as our regional sales and technical support organisations.
• Support Regional sales efforts both with customer visits and seminars, and supporting materials
• Train COMPANY Software’s sales teams in the product with focus on customer needs and wants
• Definition, development and maintenance of training courses and, when leveraged, delivery
• Product promotion, including Internet pages, flyers, news stories, adverts, conference attendance and technical papers, and pricing
Qualifications, Skills and Experience
The position requires contact with clients and other COMPANY offices worldwide and will require international travel. A hands-on approach and direct involvement in developing opportunities and working proactively with the regional sales personnel to close sales is essential.
The ideal candidate should have the following qualifications:
• Educated to degree level in a scientific or engineering discipline
• 5 years experience working with machinery systems
• Well organised and systematic with good people and presentation skills.
• Likes to build relations with customers
• Sales oriented, market and customer focussed
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Ability to prioritise and organise work according to defined priorities
• Excellent both Chinese and English communication skills
Conditions of Employment
The position will be on local terms based in COMPANY Software’s office in Shanghai.
