Sr. SDE – China Innovation
The China Innovation Group hosted with ATC Beijing is chartered with creating new products and businesses for the dynamic Chinese market. Our work centers on online and mobile solutions targeting China consumers. We deliver high user value propositions quickly by using agile processes and flexible collaboration models across China and Microsoft. We are looking for experienced software developer to join the team and drive the development efforts.
We are hiring top notch developers to deliver creative ideas that offer great value to customers and demonstrate a high level of thought leadership for Microsoft. Developers and PMs organize into small project teams, 2-3 devs and 1 PM, to implement and test the ideas using agile development processes. The teams are self managing and are empowered to make critical project related decisions, including scope, direction, architecture, technology choice, schedule, direct customer/partner interaction, etc.
On top of the excellent problem solving and coding skills, we are looking for developers with the following qualifications.
• 7+ years of experience developing software products.
• Experience of development through all stages of the product lifecycle.
• Excellent design, architecture, and problem solving skills.
• Broad experience and/or knowledge in building software on Windows or mobile platform.
• Solid understanding of Web Services, xml, and RESTful programming models.
• Excellent C/C++/C# coding/debugging skills.
• Good English and oral and written communication skills. Chinese oral and written communication skills strongly preferred.
At the same time, the following are big plusses:
• Can learn new technologies quickly. You need to deal with a lot of cutting edge technologies. Ability to learn those things quickly is key to success.
• Technical leadership. You need to proactively participate in or lead architecture design and provide valuable input for design trade-off decision.
• Creative. You need to be able to think out of box, have a good instinct with technology and customer needs, is able to come up with original solutions to solve the unspoken customer issues.
• Great at team work. The project team is self organized, not assigned. You need to work with different people over the time to make your project successful. Managers will provide guidance, but you'll need to figure out the most effective way to work with others. You also need to collaborate with partner teams and community developers to make the maximum impact.
• Can handle ambiguity and be very pragmatic. There will be lots of unknowns. You'll need to make solid progress towards the goal day by day. Not only do you need to dream big, but also be realistic.
• Excellent customer focus. The success or failure of a concept test is based on the customer feedback and usage data. It’s critical that developers can not only implement the idea but also be able to reliably measure how ideas work or don’t work. Working directly with end users to gather feedback and respond to feature requests is also crucial.
