hi to all. I've been working in this giant company for 2 years now in Europe and now have been offered to be localized in China. As the company has pretty strict expat policies (i.e. only those above a certain grade, say, Managing Director level in a big market, could be sent as expats), they made it clear to me that localization is the only choice. The package includes a base salary of RMB 420K/annum, + certain benefits (I dunno what, or in which form -- cash subsidies? Pension contribution by the company? No clue.), pre-tax. This is about 55% of what I am earning now, in monetary terms. But of course living expenses here (I'm in probably the most expensive country in the world  are more than double as compared to China. BTW they also give me a promotion, to make up for the "loss". Me MBA from the States, non big-10 school, 3 years working experience in China before MBA. I dunno if this is worth it. The package itself is not bad; but if you were me, would you settle for a salary 55% as before??
