Responsibility
Responsible for conducting research and development of network protocols and security for multimedia delivery over various broadband networks. Following and making contribution of relevant networking standardization.
Education & Skills
-MS in electrical or computer science degree； Ph.D. preferred.
-Have conducted research and preferably participated in standardization activities of Internet protocols and security for multimedia delivery.
-Detailed knowledge of IPv4/v6, RTP/RTCP, QoS on the networking. System design experience desirable.
-A self-starter and capable of setting research directions for new technologies relating to multimedia streaming and downloading applications on the Internet.
-General knowledge of communication systems design and audiovisual compression technologies for audiovisual is desired.
-Good communication skill in English is a plus.
11. CR - Multimedia Compression Research Engineer / Sr. Research Engineer
Responsibility
Responsible for research and development in audio and video compression algorithms, such as AVC and AVS standard compliant video compression algorithms.
Education & Skills
-MS degree, Ph.D. is preferred, in electrical engineering/computer science.
-Have conducted research and preferable participated in standardization activities of new audio/video compression formats including MPEG4 or H.264, etc.
-A detailed understanding of compression tradeoffs.
-Be able to conduct independent research and development to enable multimedia content delivery over evolving broadband networks.
-A self-starter and capable of setting research directions for new technologies relating to streaming applications on packet-based networks.
-A general knowledge of hardware and software platforms for processing multimedia content is highly desirable.
-Good communication skill in English is a plus.
12. CR - Communications Research Engineer / Sr. Research Engineer
Responsibility
Responsible for research and development in digital TV modulation technology. Follow and contribute to the Chinese terrestrial TV standards.
Provide support to other business units for development of the Chinese flavor of these standards. Work closely with other research center for IC solutions to address these markets.
Education & Skills
-MS degree in electrical engineering, Ph.D. preferable.
-Detailed theoretical and design experience with digital modulation/coding techniques.
-Experience with Digital TV (DTV) technologies preferred.
-Good communication skill in English is a plus.
13. CR - Software and Systems Integration Research Engineer / Sr. Research Enigneer
Responsibility
Responsible for software development and system integration for multimedia delivery over various broadband networks. Addressing Chinese market RFPs with business units. Creating system level demonstrations targeted towards showcasing Thomson's end-to-end video chain expertise. Work closely with business units to choose specific components to achieve system integration.
Education & Skills
-A BS degree, MS. is preferred, in computer science/electrical engineering.
-3-5 years software development experience in multimedia communication fields.
-Experience in software architecture design, C++ and objective oriented programming, analyze/design/debug objective oriented applications for multimedia delivery over various broadband networks.
-Have knowledge and skills in developing software in multi-platform environment: Unix, Linux and Windows OS.
-Code optimization and multithreaded programming skill are preferred.
-Good communication skill in English is a plus.
