Role Profile – Bid Project Manager
Job title: International Bid Project Manager (BPM)
Reports to: Director International Sales Support

Mission/purpose of role:

-Support the Sales Consultant, Account Manager and Service Manager to ensure profitable growth in contracting System Integration solutions with international operating German customers and selected Multi National Customers in China.
-Support the Sales Consultant in planning, preparing, offering and implement complex SI solutions with main aspects of implementation and Project Management.
-Cost control in for the individual solution and the resulting contract based on the respective P&L.
-After contract Hand-over from Sales Consultant full responsibility to bring the Solution into Operations.
-Full responsibility for the individual Bid’s and to perform all Bid Project Management tasks.


Main tasks, responsibilities and duties: 70%

-Understand the delivery of company and its capabilities in China, in close co-operation with SI, ITO, HQ and Partners (e.g.Covics).
-Up-date AM, SeM and colleagues about the deliver capabilities of Solutions.
-Analyze Customer demands and needs support the design for a competitive solution.
-Support Sales Consultant by designing a solution with focus to the CDS service offering portfolio and the delivery capabilities (ERP Application oriented).
-Initiate Kick-off and leading of a Project team for the Implementation/provisioning of a contracted Solution.
-Support creation of a proposal for the solution with necessary cost information/model from company SI/ITO or external partners for the Project Management.
-Co-ordinate delivery with external Partners.
-Cost control for the delivery in respect of Profit & Loss frame for the individual solution, co-ordination and with AM, SeM and Finance (following calculation and profitability principles).
-Support contract creation with the Sales Consultant based on the proposed Solution.
-Support preparation of Blueprints for the individual Solutions.
-After receipt of Commercial Order by AM or SeM prepare the internal or external orders with necessary documentation.
-Prepare with Operations deployment and operations manual.
-Definition of Acceptance Procedures with Sales Consultant and Operations.
-Prepare Project Plans/Schedules and interface with the Delivery internal and External.
-Prepare Project progress reports
-Lead the project team and ensure timely delivery or find work arounds to fulfill the Project Target.
-Close the Project with Handover to Operations.
-Prepare with AM and SeM a Billing procedure and ensure issuing of Billing with Administration. Control the amounts from ITO, the HQ SI organization or any other delivery unit internal or external.
-Ensure full documentation of the Individual Projects and follow the respective guidelines to assure quality.
-Be the Key interface for all related communication with the customer for the individual Project from Contract Signature until Handover to Operation.
-Full documentation till Handover to Operation and Project Closure.
-Update Delivery capabilities of company Service Offering Portfolio for the SI Service offering as well as defined local partner’s offerings and share latest information with Account Managers and SeM.


Additional tasks, responsibilities and duties:30%

-Interface with ITO and/or SI organization to identify Delivery capabilities and to ensure that a proposed solution can be implemented and operated at the agreed costs.
-Identify potential new partners (delivery) to support existing and future projects.
-Communication with HQ and other LBU’s for up-date and support purposes in individual projects
-Support the provisioning in timely and high quality using project management skills.
-Continues dialog with HQ SI organization IT Operations to extend the Service delivery capabilities by forward information of actual and future market/customer needs.
-Understand in detail the Service Offering Portfolio for SI/ITO-

Working hours and location:

-Core hours are 9:00 –18:00 primarily based in the Shanghai office
-Travel mainly in China and occasionally international.


Qualifications experience and expertise:

-Experience in a respective or similar role of 3-6 Years
-Engineering/Master degree in IT sciences
-Strong knowledge in Systems Integration (ERP, CRM and/or other applications used in the Automotive industry like Autoline, Smaragd and other applications)
-SAP Knowledge (with certifications)
-Basic Understanding of Network WAN and LAN
-Experiences in ERP Applications, skill to implement applications solution and the needed IT environments.
-Basic understanding of Data center solutions.
-Experiences in the Automotive and Automotive supplier Industry.
-ITIL Certifications are a plus
-PMI, PMP Certifications are a plus
-Experienced in cost management for IT/Telecom contracts and services.
-Experienced in Project management with track record successful implementations (best Automotive sector).
-Experienced in provisioning and managing System Integration solutions.
-Experienced in Contract negotiation and preparation.
-Experienced in designing interdisciplinary IT and Telecom solutions to support and SI solution.
-Basic skills in project management, operational procedures, mediation, as well as in-depth experience in multicultural international teamwork.
-Customer satisfaction oriented, ability to demonstrate a strong capacity to communicate, analyze and make proposals.
-Ability to work with the internal and external personnel with tact and judgments.
-Excellent organizational skills and detail oriented
-Ability to manage and own workload, effectively using all available resources
-Ability to work on multiple tasks simultaneously
-Excellent written communications skills, edits documents for content and presentation; composes and distributes own correspondence.
-Good understanding of processes and ability to follow existing process and to optimize them.
-Native or Excellent English communication skills in speech and writing.
-Additional Languages like Mandarin, German would be a plus.
-Good social and interpersonal skills and ability to lead teams and to work as non leading team member.
-High self motivation capabilities and availability to motivate teams


Interfaces to other organizations:

-Sales and Service Management, AM and SeM successful for Implantation and bringing into operations.
-IT Operations to Delivery Management and SI specialist to arrange/ verify delivery capabilities.
-Sales Consulting to support Solution design, proposal and contract preparation and for Handover after Contract Signature.
-Finance/Controlling to deliver profitable solutions and to establish feasible pricing/remuneration models.
-External suppliers to manage their delivery and control costs to implement a competitive solution.
-Sales Administration to provide full documentation and ensure process conform working and ensure invoicing and payments
-HQ and other LBU’s to get or to provide support
