The following are true stories 
a) I took 公车 from Shanghai (sport arena) to Hangzhou. Everybody had a seat, good air-conditioning. I just was surprised that why those rich Zhejiang
LaoNong had their luxuary house bulit-up with a temple-like top 
b) I tool 公车 from KunMing (YunNan) to LiJiang. It is an overnight bus. Everybody has a simple bed. It is a little crowded with about 40 people.
But with the air-conditioning, the smells is not un-bearable.
c) I took 公车 around Beijing, not crowded at all. Some time no A/C.
d) I took 公车 from ZhengDu to 9ZhaiGou and took 公车 back, too. I could not tell how good it is:)
Of Course, most of the time, I took Taxi (cost me about 1000RMB/week)
only because I did not have time to find the bus station.
