Location: Shanghai
Possesses and applies an exhaustive knowledge and specialization, including:
- Multiple operating systems
- Database administration
- IT standards development
- Database best practices
- Disaster recovery
- Database optimization
Applies mastery of skill in:
- Defining, creating, and maintaining multiple operating systems at the enterprise level
- Establishing capacity standards
- Evaluating vendors
- Seeking ways to apply technology to business processes
- Conducting technological research
- Delivering solutions within applicable computing environments (i.e., MVS, UNIX, NT, WEB, INTERNET)
- Developing processes and practices
- Providing technical and project leadership
- Communicating complex technical information in a concise manner
- Establishing and promoting new standards and methodologies
- Communication, interpersonal skills as applied to interaction with coworkers, supervisor, etc. sufficient to exchange or convey information and to receive work direction
- Works with a wide range of multi-vendor databases
- Participates in vendor evaluations
- Establishes standards for performance, capacity and availability
- Establishes best practices relevant to installation, implementation, and design of databases
- Participates in developing and establishing disaster recovery processes
- Researches and makes recommendations regarding appropriate standards and methodologies for new technologies
- Reviews and optimizes applicable databases
- Reviews and optimizes application related SQL
- Performs work at the enterprise level
- Participates in projects acting in a consulting capacity, providing ideas, opinions and suggestions to a project team mapping technical solutions to business requirements.
- Provides expertise involving technical skills not found within the existing confines of the project team
- Provides complex, hands-on data and database administration, programming, analysis, management, and technical leadership
- Develops and communicates database solutions congruent with established formal policies, procedures and standards
- Serves as a technical subject matter expert and develops alternative technical solutions; advises on options, risks, costs versus benefits, and impact on other business processes and system priorities
- Conducts research and provides information on technical trends and best practices
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related area.
- 6+ years progressively responsible experience, including work with a wide range of vendor databases and multi-disciple IT environments.
