Manpower China: Asia-Pac Enterprise Application Manager

Role description

This role will be part of [Client]’ GFIMS sustain operations for the Asia Pacific implementation. This role is for the Enterprise Application Management.

Responsible for the overall client specific Enterprise Application Management delivery, processes and other tasks including associated with delivery, performance, budget, schedule and customer satisfaction for the sustain project. Coordinate with [Client] onsite and client management to develop formal sustain project plans. Lead sustain projects and assign resources, complete assessment documentation, review services with the client and establish the sustain organization.

Use [Client] EAS specific tools and processes and apply broad knowledge of GAD/QMS best practices and methodology. Utilize EAS Capability global common collateral and serve as a focal point for EAS sustain activities.

Work with the [Client] EAM Project Manager, Portfolio Architect, Client Delivery Executive (CDE), Client Sales Executive (CSE), subject matter experts and the client to provide the timely and successful execution of all phases of the EAM sustain plan including: start-up and planning, knowledge acquisition, management practices and initiation of services.


Skills Other Qualifications –

Acting as the Change Agent to understand and implement new asset management global processes into the Asia Pacific region.

Successful candidates will have excellent English - reading, written and oral.

The Senior candidate will have extensive experience (5 years +) in the field ERP applications in a Technical for Functional Leadership role, with SAP experience in the FICO, SRM or broad Functional knowledge.

Must have either supported or implemented enterprise applications (SAP, Oracle, PeopleSoft are examples.)

Must have demonstrated experience in a sustain organization, demonstrate client delivery and ability to be available 24/7 in critical times.

Must be able to work with a virtual team, excellent teaming skills and capable of guiding a team through client requirements to delivery. Must be results orientated and can operate under client service levels.

Must have demonstrated client facing skills. This role is client facing – it is critical to have effective client communication, sense of urgency for client delivery and is quality driven.

Demonstrate knowledge of Software Development Activities and process

Knowledge of the Information Technology Infrastructure Library (ITIL) is preferable, particularly Configuration Management, change management, incident management.

Experience in implementing process change in a global organisation
Willingness to proactively accept responsibility, drive change and make decisions as required
Ability to work effectively independently, with little management supervision.
Experience working effectively as part of a geographically-disbursed team



Role responsibilities -

Successful candidates will need to have had experience in most of the following – this is a Senior SAP Technical/Functional role and the candidate will need perform in these areas:

Implemented and Accelerated the Corporate Success Strategy – Use/susport the philosophy, vision and “Innovative Forum” strategies to implement corporate program. Integrated financial performance metrics, including strategic processes and cost models into all consulting, design, and execution tasks. Assessed risk profiles, appraised market conditions, and formulate alternatives when evaluating potential business opportunities to make deals and investment recommendations for large or complex projects in order to accelerate the corporate success strategy.

Build and developed Intellectual Capital and Brain Trust – Shared experiences and knowledge with colleagues and organizations to recognize trends and provide thought leadership in redefining capabilities and suite of offerings. Write articles for professional and technical journals. Make presentations at conferences and industry forums. Contribute to the [Client] “Innovative Forum” and conceptually and creatively contribute to the suite of training programs for the development of [Client] employees in order to build the [Client] intellectual capital and brain trust.

Created Project Deliverables – Use multiple cutting-edge technologies to develop and design projects within identified tolerances. Rapidly develop innovative solutions in matching [Client] service lines and practice areas with client needs. Design winning solutions that meet standards and are consistent with the way the client does business in order to create project deliverables.

Designed & Implemented Future Mode of Operation Solutions – Use ERP/SAP and application management and process knowledge, organizational and business systems knowledge to translate complex business needs into technical solutions by accurately interpreting a client's description of an inefficiency or problem. Dissected a project and extracted the issues to determine the best course of action. Translated the technical language of systems solutions into a business understanding when exploring the value of various alternative solutions with a client. Designed technical solutions that meet standards and are consistent with the way the client does business in order to design technical solutions.

Developed and Nurtured the Strategic Client Partnership – Must have used skills to build, influence techniques, personal experience, business savvy and personal fortitude to gain the trust and confidence of senior Client management. Create and maintain high quality relationships within a client organization. Developed a fully integrated business partnership with the client in order to ensure that they take the initiative to contact [Client] before making any strategic decisions. Display resolute and indomitable demeanor when under pressure during conflict to maintain credibility with challenging and confrontational clients in order to develop and nurture the strategic client partnership.

Displayed Industry/Vocational ERP, SAP and Project Acumen – Used continuous learning techniques to access current industry information available through the internet, periodicals, conferences, colleague discussions, etc.. Demonstrated and applied project management processes. Demonstrated and applied knowledge of various ERP, particular SAP applications and boundary for the transition of application support. Demonstrated understanding of the client’s business and industry.

Improve Client Business – Analyzed existing resources, systems, and processes and identify ways in which they can be improved to establish baseline performance metrics. Integrate findings and associated recommendations into proposed solutions. Document and quantify costs and benefits. Establish metrics that accurately reflect their contribution and ensure that actions taken contribute to overall long-term improvement of client business in order to improve client business and transition objectives.

Managed Financial and Cost Controls – Conducted financial analysis for assigned projects, create budgets and forecasts, and collect financial data to make adjustments as necessary to meet budgets. Improved operation profitability by looking for opportunities to limit costs and taking appropriate actions. Initiated transactions in a timely manner to lower shipping costs and ensure timely availability when needed. Optimized economies of scale and utilize approved vendors. Reconcile to the point of sale models in order to manage financial and cost controls.

Managed Risk – Used risk assessment methodologies to identify, effectively communicate and develop action plans to mitigate risk. Calculated the trade-off’s and the implications of those trade-off’s. Perform necessary cost/benefits analyses. Evaluated when to take risks and when to stay with historical solutions. Leveraged experience to determine when to take risks and when to make client concessions so project risks are mitigated in order to effectively manage risk.

Negotiated Project Parameters and Contracts – Used effective communication to remove project barriers, peer reviews, client project scope sessions to participate in sessions with senior leaders in the client organization during contract negotiations. Negotiated with the client regarding project scope and expectations and calculate the cost/benefit of alternatives to balance the customer’s needs for a specific solution with the resource needs of [Client]. Negotiated with project team members to strike agreements when conflicts arise. Achieve project compromises when deliverables cannot be met within a specified timeframe in order to negotiate project parameters and contracts.

Performed Strategic Business Analysis Consulting – Used macro-economic and strategic business concepts to understand and interpret a client's business needs across the entire enterprise. Help a client set strategic directions in large and complex business challenges to anticipate and prepare for the challenges inherent in joint ventures, mergers and acquisitions, and divestitures in order to perform strategic business analysis consulting.

Performed Systems Consulting – Use understanding of the client’s business metrics and a high level of familiarity of solutions within the client industry to define, organize, describe, document and diagnose a totally integrated performance picture to provide the client with viable alternatives in addressing system-wide solution architecture. Developed ERP/SAP sustain programs that met clients needs and adheres to the agreed upon cost models.

Demonstrated Program Leadership – Used project management systems and processes to lead multiple SAP/ERP projects. Follow established [Client] EAS/EAM project management processes and procedures. Convey to the client and the team the EAM transition program. Effectively communicate and guide the client and team through the EAM program and clearly define what the project challenges are that lie ahead. Set the standards for quality. Assisted in obtaining and aligning resources for maximum synergy and effectiveness. Demonstrated flexibility when being challenged about the best course of action. Lead post-implementation reviews and guide and control all components of the project. Obtain and maintain ERP and project management certifications in order to provide project leadership.

Provided Project Management and Coordination – Coordinated selected portions of a project within a specific limited scope to demonstrate knowledge and successful use of project management principles. Understand the requirements inherent in meeting achievement targets. Maintain contact with the client for follow-up, feedback, and regular reporting. Monitor project milestones and take action to keep the project on track. Maintain careful oversight to limit scope creep. Rescue failed projects. Provided Client Leadership – Establish and maintain rapport as the Leader /Program Manager to participate in client planning meetings, provide operational direction, demonstrate SAP/ERP value to client overall delivery. Educated the client and Key Stakeholders on management and sustain approach, communicate alternatives. Assisted the client to solve SAP/ERP support issues and on-going support efforts. Provided direction for the client on best in class ERP support, direction and growth opportunities for their ERP footprint. Provided thought leadership and approve solution approaches to address the client’s needs. Work with and integrate the clients overall operational plan with EAM direction. Interpret biases among the different business and technical drivers to establish a sustain program that best meets the clients needs and expectations. Enabled the client to make informed decisions in order to provide client leadership.
