Global Sourcing Transition Management
The key success factors to this role are delivering customized solutions with speed, power and passion. Transition/Transformation Managers lead the transition of day to day operations of customer environs (e.g. help desk, network, data center, server support, asset management, configuration management, infrastructure architecture, applications design, development, support & maintenance) from the Customer or [client name] Onshore locations to [client name] Global Sourcing centers. Additionally, they transform such environs to improve performance, productivity, operational efficiencies, margin, while maintaining a high level of customer satisfaction.

The transition managers help clients to realign their IT activities and make best use of technology to create or capitalize on business opportunities.

[client name] implements internet and global technology solutions to multi-site, multi-national businesses, manufacturing, telecoms, automotive and other key industries. Customers range from start-ups to large corporations.

Global Sourcing Senior Transition Manager (STM)
In this entirely customer-facing role, the STM based in a UGS China location will lead Global Sourcing internal and external customers in the transition and transformation of the environs via complex integrated solutions that optimize their technology to support and grow their business. Additionally, the STM will assist our pursuit teams in the build of the overall solution, by utilizing the [client name]’ Blueprinting Methodology and Service Delivery Framework (embedded with [client name]’ Global Sourcing specific tailored approaches).

After the solution is confirmed and bid to the customer, the STM will then have overall responsibility for the scope, costing, scheduling, planning & tracking, terms & conditions and risk management of the UGS related project activities during its time of transition and transformation, delivering quality and total customer satisfaction. All during this time, the STM will work closely with the Engagement’s Global Transition Manager and Global Account Manager to ensure overall deal goals are met.

The STM will identify problem areas and risks associated with the transition or transformation activity; drive resolution and enable risk mitigation. As appropriate, the STM will raise necessary and appropriate awareness with the UGS Executive Management and the Account Management about significant risks and issues that require senior/executive management intervention. Will provide strategic and tactical recommendations for management decisions.

As a senior leader in the application of standard transition management technology and tools, the STM will:
- Contribute towards the development/evolution of the Standardized [client name] Blueprinting Methodology and the Service Delivery Framework from a Global Sourcing Delivery standpoint.
- Enable the adoption and adherence to the standardized methodology and processes
- Coach, counsel, mentor and motivate implementation and junior transition managers.

Requisite Skills & Experience
- Over 10 years of experience in the IT Services Industry
- At least 5 years' program management experience
- Only for ITO: Technology knowledge: Client/server technology, networking systems and solutions, middleware concepts, database solutions, IT security, web technologies, Storage/SAN management, data warehousing, internet, intranet, portal technologies.
- Only for ITO: Strong NT and Unix implementation, system administration skills and basic software development knowledge.
- Only for ITO: Demonstrated strength in technology help desks, managed service desks implementations, transitions and operations.
- Only for ITO: Good experience in Call Center concepts including agent training, telephony, call routing & distribution, service requests processes, etc.
- Only for SDG (not necessary, but nice to have): Excellent Software Development, Support and Maintenance Management experience in legacy/mainframe applications as well as in contemporary technologies including J2EE, .Net, Oracle, SQL etc.
- Only for SDG (not necessary, but nice to have): Familiarity with one or more Packaged Enterprise Solutions including SAP, PeopleSoft, Oracle, Siebel, JD Edwards, Lawson etc.
- Service Delivery Metrics planning, data collection, measurement and reporting.
- Demonstrated leadership abilities
- Multi site, multi engagement, multi function service delivery planning & management
- Leadership skills and proactive approach
- Ability to work with a minimum of direct supervision or guidance from others
- Broad knowledge of computer technology and future trends
- Good Project & program Management experience in key areas such as Requirements/Scope Management, Risk & Issue Management, Financial Management and Quality Management
- Advanced knowledge of project management methodology including commercial, technical and legal issues
- Excellent communication, negotiation and influencing skills (English and a Primary Chinese language are mandatory. Secondary Chinese Languages, Japanese and Korean are nice to have)
- Mentoring and coaching ability
- Interpersonal sensitivity and responsiveness to customers.
- Ability to communicate with customers at the senior management level
- Ability to travel up to 75% of the time, with domestic as well as international trips of various durations
- ITIL, ITSM and PMI certifications will be a big plus
