To support relief efforts for the victims of the 7.9 magnitude earthquake that struck central China, Wells Fargo today announced a $10,000 donation and established a special relief account on behalf of the American Red Cross of the Bay Area titled the “American Red Cross China Earthquake Relief 2008.” Those interested may go to any Wells Fargo Bank to contribute funds up to $250 to the special account to support the disaster relief and recovery effort in China.
In addition, Wells Fargo—in conjunction with its remittance network member bank Agricultural Bank of China (ABC)—will temporarily eliminate all remittance transfer fees (normally $8 or $10) for U.S.-based customers sending money using the ExpressSendÒ service to friends and family in China impacted by the earthquake. The offer is effective through June 30, 2008.
